I. Customized Start: Tailor-made for Australian Clients As a major lychee-producing region in the Southern Hemisphere, Australia's lychee industry has specific requirements for grading equipment – it must be compatible with the size characteristics of mainstream local lychee varieties (such as "Kaimana" and "Bengal"), while also meeting the stringent standards of export markets regarding fruit integrity and weight consistency. To this end, the JCSORT team conducted three rounds of in-depth communication with the client, considering the average diameter of local lychees (2.5-4cm), their thin and easily damaged peels, and the client's production requirement of "direct quantitative packing after grading." Ultimately, a customized equipment solution was determined, and production was completed in just 45 days, efficiently responding to the client's urgent need for pre-harvest production. "The client specifically emphasized that the weight error of each basket of lychees exported to Europe must not exceed 50g, and that the fruit must not be damaged by compression after grading," explained the JCSORT overseas project manager. This customized machine underwent targeted optimization of its core components to ensure complete adaptation to Australian production scenarios and export standards.

II. Equipment Disassembly: Four Core Modules Covering the Entire Grading Process

This lychee size grading machine focuses on "efficient sorting, precise quantification, and fruit protection." Four modules work together to create a complete production line from raw material processing to quantitative crating:

1. Elevator: Gentle Conveying, Avoiding Peel Damage

Considering the thin peel of lychees and their susceptibility to damage from impact, the elevator at the equipment inlet uses a food-grade PVC soft belt conveyor. Combined with a 20° tilt angle and low-speed operation (1.2m/min), it ensures "zero friction and zero compression" during the transport of lychees from the raw material crate to the next stage. Simultaneously, an arc-shaped guide plate is installed on the top of the elevator to prevent the fruit stem from detaching due to impact when the lychees fall. Testing shows that the fruit integrity rate in the elevator stage reaches 99.9%, far exceeding the industry average. 2. Manual Sorting Table: Refined Screening, the First Line of Quality Control Following the elevator, the equipment features a 3-meter-long manual sorting table. The tabletop is made of non-slip, easy-to-clean 304 stainless steel and equipped with an LED shadowless lighting system—allowing operators to quickly remove deformed, diseased, and substandard fruit under ample light, ensuring that only high-quality lychees enter the grading process. The sorting table also features height-adjustable work surfaces (75-90cm) on both sides to accommodate operators of different heights and improve sorting efficiency. It is estimated that a single shift can process 15 tons of lychees, representing a 30% increase in efficiency compared to traditional sorting methods. 3. Roller Sizing Machine: Precise grading in 0.2cm increments, suitable for multiple varieties. As the core grading component, the roller grading machine employs a multi-set, gradually spaced roller design. Based on the needs of Australian customers, it features 5 grading levels (2.5-2.8cm, 2.8-3.2cm, 3.2-3.5cm, 3.5-3.8cm, 3.8-4cm), with the roller spacing error strictly controlled within ±0.1cm. During operation, lychees move smoothly with the rollers. When the fruit diameter is smaller than the roller spacing, it falls precisely into the corresponding receiving hopper, achieving "automatic sorting by size." To protect the lychee peel, the roller surface is treated with a frosted, non-slip finish, and the roller speed can be adjusted via a PLC system (50-80r/min). This prevents lychees from slipping and piling up during grading, and also prevents peel abrasion caused by high-speed friction. "Given the rounder shape of the 'Kaimana' lychee variety, we specifically adjusted the roller arrangement density to ensure that grading accuracy is not affected by fruit shape," added a JCSORT technical engineer. 4. Intelligent Weighing Discharge System: Quantitative crating, adapted to export standards. The intelligent weighing system at the equipment outlet is a "highlight module" of this customization. Each grading level's discharge port corresponds to an electronic weighing device. Customers can preset the filling amount per crate (e.g., 5kg/crab, 10kg/crab) via the equipment's touchscreen. When the weight of the lychees in the receiving crate reaches the set value, the electronic scale provides real-time feedback, and the outlet conveyor belt immediately stops running. After the operator replaces the empty crate, pressing the start button resumes operation. The entire process requires no manual weighing, and the weight error of each crate can be controlled within ±30g, fully meeting the customer's weight standards for export to Europe. In addition, the system also has a weight data recording function, which can automatically count the number of lychees packed into baskets and the total weight of each grade every hour, making it convenient for customers to manage production and calculate orders.

III. Detail Optimization: Adapting to Overseas Usage Scenarios and Eliminating Concerns In addition to core functions, this customized machine fully considers the usage needs in Australia, ensuring efficient operation immediately upon deployment: Voltage Adaptation: The motor and electrical system have been voltage-adjusted for the Australian standard voltage (240V/50Hz), eliminating the need for an additional transformer; Protection Rating: Considering that most lychee processing workshops in Australia are open or semi-open, the electrical cabinet's protection rating has been upgraded to IP54, effectively preventing dust and splashes; Spare Parts: A complete set of spare parts (such as roller sleeves, conveyor belts, and load cell spares) is shipped with the equipment, along with a bilingual (Chinese and English) installation and maintenance manual for easy customer maintenance. "From equipment design to container loading and delivery, the client followed up on the progress through video conferencing throughout the process, and highly praised our customized solutions and production efficiency," said the head of JCSORT logistics. The equipment will be shipped to the port of Brisbane, Australia, and is expected to arrive in 25 days. At that time, the JCSORT technical team will also provide remote guidance on installation and commissioning to ensure that the client can start production smoothly before the lychee harvest season.

IV. Global Expansion: JCSORT Customized Equipment Goes Global This lychee size grading machine shipped to Australia is JCSORT's 12th customized fruit and vegetable grading machine exported overseas this year. Previously, JCSORT's citrus and mango grading machines have successfully served customers in more than 20 countries and regions, including the United States, South Africa, and Chile. With its advantages of "customization on demand, rapid response, reliability, and durability," it has become the preferred brand for overseas fruit and vegetable processing companies. "Different countries and different varieties of fruits and vegetables have different needs for grading equipment," said the General Manager of JCSORT. He added that in the future, they will continue to focus on the personalized needs of overseas markets, using a "customized design + localized service" model to bring more intelligent grading equipment to the world, helping to improve the quality and efficiency of the global fruit and vegetable industry. Currently, this lychee size grading machine has been loaded into a container and is about to depart for Australia. We look forward to it playing a valuable role in the lychee-producing region of the Southern Hemisphere, injecting the power of "Made in China" into the local lychee industry!
